• This is a combined work based learning qualification that combines competence and technical knowledge. The qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for the appropriate sector.

    Assessment is by producing a portfolio of evidence which must pass all of the criteria for the mandatory and chosen optional units. All of the units in this qualification are assessed through an internally and externally quality assured Portfolio of Evidence made up of evidence gathered during the course of the learners work.

    To pass each unit you must:

    * achieve all of the specified learning outcomes

    * satisfy all the assessment criteria by providing sufficient and valid evidence for each criterion

    * prove that the evidence is your own

    Learners must meet a minimum credit value of 61 credits, 53 from mandatory units, and 8 from optional units.

    To achieve a unit, you must gather evidence that shows you have met the required standard specified in the assessment criteria.
