  • Aim and purpose

    The aim of this unit is to develop learner knowledge of the range of human, physical, technological and financial resources required in an organisation, and how the management of these resources can impact on business performance.

    Unit introduction

    At the core of every organisation are the human, physical, technological and financial resources that enable it to function. This unit will give learners a broad understanding of the importance organisations place on managing their resources efficiently in order to achieve their objectives. It is important that learners are able to relate their understanding of resource management to a real organisation. This will provide an essential link between theory and practice.

  • The aim of this unit is to introduce learners to recruitment and the importance of ensuring that the best people are selected to work in organisations. Learners will study selection and recruitment techniques and will set up, and take part in, a selection interview.

  • Aim and purpose-

    This unit covers developing a career plan based on research and realistic targets. The unit is a practical unit as learners develop and refine the content of their career plan. On completion of the unit, learners will have developed a realistic picture of their career possibilities. 

    The aim of this unit is to enable learners to plan their career in business. Learners will do this by exploring career options and building a career plan supported by research, self-assessment and realistic targets. It is essential that learners recognise the importance of planning their career.
  • Aim/Purpose - The aim of this unit is for learners to understand the importance of effective team working to an organisation’s success, and to develop skills and knowledge for working in team situations both as a team leader and a team member.

    In this unit learners will explore the benefits of team development and team-working. They will examine the skills required by different team members and how an effective team leader can motivate and develop individuals within teams. Learners will also be able to demonstrate their own team-working abilities identify the strengths they can bring to team activity and recognise the skills that could be developed.
